How to Capture Frames and Videos from the Firewire ports of the SGI 320-540

I would like to thank Mr Tim TURLEY, who has send personaly the Zip file which I have used to activate the Firewire port of my SGI 320
The Zip file can be found on his web page:

http://home.earthlink.net/~taturley/SGI_320_Firewire.htm

The activation of the SGI 320-540 doesn't work together with the Digital Origin PCI board sent to some of SGI 320-540 owners.

So far, I have only succeded to capture frames and videos from SGI1394 ports under NT4.0 sp4.
the next step is to get the print to tape working.

A: Installation of the Zip file to capture frames under ADOBE Photoshop

Unzip the file and launch PhotoDV_SGI.exe . Then merge 'SgiRegSetup.reg'.
Start Photoshop.

Under File ,Import, you should see Digital Origin PhotoDV...

B Capture of videos using Digital Origin MotoDV

The MotoDV software (MotoDVSGI.zip) was originaly produced to work with the RadLynx PCI board. To make it compatible with the SGI 320-540 firewire port, you must check the following files with the modified date.Without these versions no way to run MotoDV with the Sgi1394 ports.

WINNT\system32\drivers\RadDVDev.sys (28 june 1999)
WINNT\system32\drivers\Sgi1394.sys (28 june 1999)
WINNT\system32\RadDVFW.dll (29 june 1999)
WINNT\system32\RadRT.dll (29 june 1999)
WINNT\system32\Cls1394.dll (29 june 1999)
WINNT\system32\RadBmSvc.exe (29 june 1999)
SGI IEEE1394.zip

The service 'Radius 1394 Bus Manager' must be stopped if you need to overwrite the files. After a reboot, and, a manuel start of the drivers 'Sgi1394' then 'RadDvDev',
the Digital Origin DV Tester should be ready to control remotely the DVcam (it works with my SONY DVcam).

When it's OK close the application.

The next step is to launch the Digital Origin MotoDV.
You can now capture Videos in DV format (.mov) without any drop.
